Evolution Chamber Pushes ‘Receptoration’ Further With Finalfix and Task Horizon

Share

Right, strap in. Evolution Chamber is back in the lab, and this time it’s personal. ‘Receptoration’ rolls into its second chapter, a heavyweight remix series paying dues to one of the scene’s most formidable architects, Receptor. This is not just a nostalgia trip. It is a full system salute. A back catalogue rebuilt for 2026 dancefloors, basements and sweatbox warehouse sessions where the subs rattle ribcage,s and nobody stands still.

After the first wave landed hard with ‘Punks’ reworked by Gydra and ‘Parkour’ flipped by Neonlight, the bar was already somewhere near the ceiling. Now, Chapter Two steps up and swings again. Belgian firestarter Finalfix and Swiss trio Task Horizon take on ‘Crematorium’ and ‘Ambabai’, and they are not here to play polite.

‘Crematorium’ in the hands of Finalfix is pure controlled demolition. No long warm-up. No easing you in. The drop punches through with blunt force bass stabs, clipped and direct, locking into a call-and-response pattern with razor bleeps that cut through like strobes in a blackout. It is tight, relentless, and built around snarling 16-bar bassline sections that keep the groove grinding forward. This is Drum & Bass engineered for peak-time chaos, the kind that sends a ripple through the front row and turns a rooftop into a pressure chamber.

Then in comes our premiere, ‘Ambabai’, flipped by Task Horizon with a sly, cheeky grin. The opening nods respectfully to the original blueprint, keeping that rolling movement intact before twisting it into their own high-voltage vision. The breakdown flips the script entirely, diving into a gabber-laced second drop with hammering kicks that feel like concrete slabs hitting the floor. Just when you think it has gone full riot mode, it snaps back into the core theme. Tension. Release. Whiplash energy. Pure dancefloor theatre.

Receptor’s influence runs deep in the harder corners of Drum & Bass, and ‘Receptoration’ feels like the right kind of tribute. Not museum glass. Not safe edits. These are remixes built for dark rooms, festival main stages and those 4am moments when the air is thick, and the crowd is locked in.

Evolution Chamber are curating this with serious intent. If this chapter is anything to go by, ‘Receptoration’ is shaping up to be essential ammunition for DJs who like it heavy, sharp and unapologetic.

Stream it loud. Test it on a real system. And watch what happens when Receptor’s legacy meets 2026 pressure.
