Evolution Chamber Launches Receptor Farewell Remix Project ‘Receptoration’

Share

After over 15 years of shaping the face of Drum & Bass, Receptor is taking his final bow. The Russian innovator, known for his razor-sharp sound design and fearless approach to production, has announced his retirement from the genre. But before he exits the stage, he’s leaving fans with one final gift, ‘Receptoration’, a remix project that celebrates his career, legacy, and lasting impact on the scene.

Curated by Evolution Chamber, ‘Receptoration’ is both a send-off and a salute, gathering heavyweight producers handpicked by Receptor himself to reimagine his most iconic tunes. It’s not just a goodbye, it’s a history lesson told through bass, breaks, and pure creative energy.

The first single sets the tone in devastating fashion. Receptor ‘Punks’ (Gydra Remix) is a monster in motion. Gydra, one of Russia’s most explosive Drum & Bass exports, tears into the original with a blend of neuro grit and jump-up bounce. It’s a wall of controlled chaos, bursting with cinematic tension, steppy fills, and basslines that roll through your chest like thunder. The classic vocal hook remains, but this time it hits harder, sharper, and more dangerous than ever.

Next up, German duo Neonlight step in with their rework of ‘Parkour’, and it’s every bit as electrifying. Staying true to the original’s melodic tension, they push the track into new terrain, weaving in their unmistakable musicality and futuristic sound design. The switch-up midway through, with 4×4 drums and soaring leads, flips the vibe entirely, creating a moment built for festival sunsets and warehouse after-hours alike. It’s nostalgic, powerful, and 100% Neonlight.

With more remixes to come, ‘Receptoration’ promises to be a fitting finale for one of Drum & Bass’s most forward-thinking producers. Receptor may be signing off, but his influence will keep echoing through clubs, raves, and late-night sessions for years to come.
