NUDE210: Maike Depas

Share

Maike Depas is not here to play safe. The Milan-born producer, aka Michelangelo De Pasquale, has spent over a decade sharpening his sound into something fierce, cinematic and completely his own. Trained at the Milan Conservatory in piano and composition, his roots run deep in classical music, but what he delivers today is raw, industrial hard techno infused with flashes of 90s rave, psy-trance, and pure emotional grit.

2024 was the year everything levelled up. After dropping heavyweight releases like ‘Tokyo Nights’ and ‘Circle of Life’ on Pushmaster Discs, Maike relaunched with a dystopian visual identity that turned heads across the scene. There was a striking Demobaza shoot, a powerful live set filmed at Berlin’s Teufelsberg, and a stacked 10-tracker called ‘Sexy Devil Horse’ on his own The Innovation Studio Records, featuring Luca Agnelli, OGUZ, CHRS and more.

Now, in 2025, he’s keeping his foot on the gas with a string of releases that show the full scope of his artistic vision. From the introspective weight of ‘Sound of Nothingness’ to the grit of ‘Don’t Phonk With Me’ and the emotional pull of ‘Back To You’, Maike lays out a three-part journey that digs deep into contrast, vulnerability and power.

Today, he joins the NUDE Techno podcast, with an hour of Techno. Listen to it below on SoundCloud & Mixcloud. If you are enjoying this series, please consider supporting it on Mixcloud Select.

Sum up this podcast in 10 words…
A cinematic, high-intensity journey through tension, release, and emotion.

What’s your personal favourite track on it?
Probably Think of Me. It’s the most personal one, emotional but still powerful on the dancefloor. It captures exactly where I am right now as an artist.

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
Emotional contrast. I always try to balance raw, physical energy with something deeper and more introspective. That tension defines my sound.

Tell us about your next EP?
My next EP, Chains of Humanity, is coming out this August on Eradys Records. It’s a deep dive into a psychedelic mental state, a return to my roots, where psytrance atmospheres meet the emotional urgency of techno.

What have you got coming up?
I’ve got a packed release schedule until the end of the year and I’m also focusing on my own label, The Innovation Studio Records. We’re closing the year with a special Various Artists compilation in December 2025, and demos are open for it.

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
Stay curious. Dance music isn’t just about BPMs, it’s about feeling something real. Keep supporting projects that challenge the rules and bring emotion back to the rave.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
