GUDFELLA steps up for the Data Transmission podcast with a mix that mirrors where his sound is at right now, sharp, groove-led and built for big rooms without losing that late-night edge. With “Morning Coffee” opening things up, he wastes no time setting the tone. It’s the track that’s been doing serious damage across sets worldwide, and it still hits.
From there, it moves fast. His edit of “Shut Up” and that flip of “Buttons” show the playful side, while cuts like Chris Lorenzo’s “In This Bih” and Ship Wrek’s “My Body” keep the pressure on. There’s a nice balance here, known weapons, left turns, and a stack of IDs that hint at what’s coming next from his camp.
Tracks like Marco Strous’ “Yello Kitty” and the Beltran remix bring that rolling, low-end groove, while deeper moments like Parcels’ “Overnight” give the mix some space before it builds again. And those GUDFELLA IDs are doing exactly what they should, locking you in without giving too much away.
This one feels like a proper snapshot. Big records, tight transitions, and just enough unreleased heat to keep you guessing.
Lock in and run it loud.
Today, he joins us on the podcast for the first time. Listen to it below, on Mixcloud or Apple Podcast here.
Sum up this podcast in 10 words…
I wanted to give everyone a look at my new sound. I went on a pretty transformative writing trip to London back in January. My biggest goal for that trip was to get maybe 1 or 2 songs that I was really proud of. I left the trip with about 7 tracks instead.
The morning coffee track was a really huge turning point for me sonically, & I wanted to push the envelope of that success. Its a really cool thing when you finally find your sonic lane, & I’m excited to show that to my audience.
What’s your personal favourite track on it?
It’s hard to remain unbiased here.. But something tells me I wouldn’t even be here doing this mix for you without Morning Coffee 🙂 . That song has opened so many doors for me & im just enjoying the ride at this point!
What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
Most of these tracks are either my unreleased ID’s, or some unreleased heat from my friends! Good luck Shazaming anything on this mix ; )
Tell us about your next EP?
Definitely aiming to push my sound further. Not necessarily going for another project, but definitely have some singles on the way with some incredible labels. I think the aim for me this year is to really show everyone what I’m about. Underground house music is the lane I’ve always wanted to be in, but coming from an EDM background I feel like I still have lots to prove.
With my new tracks I hope to spread the joy & passion I have for the scene and this form of music. Not only do I wanna make my mark, but also honour all the legends that came before me.
What have you got coming up?
I’m making my Coachella debut in two weeks, which still feels surreal. I’ve gone as a fan the past few years, so coming back to play the Do LaB stage is a full circle moment. I’m bringing my parents for this one, and also flying my sister in from London so we can experience this thing as a family. Sure to be an incredible experience.
And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
Thanks for the support!
