Techno, house and acid, for all their links and similarities still have a wealth of differences and so DJs who can genuinely weave these most coveted of genres into one seamless arrangement naturally garner a lot of attention. This weeks podcast comes from a man who does exactly that in fast rising UK based Spaniard Nicson, whose genre defying exploits have earned him gigs across the globe, with dance music hotspots Berlin, Barcelona and London all housing his talents in recent times. Meanwhile, his productions for Tim Green’s Imprint Disc Over Music, Upon You, Get Physical and Holic Trax have picked up support from the global electronic elite.

For his exclusive Data Transmission mix, Nicson’s impeccable selection is on display as tracks from Amir Alexander, Ekkohaus, Hector and Joe Europe rub shoulders with a plethora of his own works. What’s your personal favourite track on it?

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
Maybe bit of rethinks that´s hasn’t seen the light yet..plus of course my recent material out which I´m proud of..I havenñt been playing much my own music in the past, but these new things I released lately are flowing much better with my mixes.

What’s the best gig you’ve played recently?
Not gigging so mud lately to be honest, since I have been very focus on the studio and I just moved back to Spain again, but I remember a really cool night some months back in Madrid, in a club called Sirocco, excellent vibe and crew on that venue.

What have you got coming up?
I´m just finishing next EP for Tim Green´s label Disc Over Music, which is coming out nicely..and I have another tune that Timo Mass took a while ago to put out on a V.A release on his imprint Rockets & Ponies..there´s a few other things on the pipeline which I´ll announce soon..:)
