Melvin Spix lands on the NUDE Techno Podcast today with an hour of rolling, groovy techno built for dark rooms, low ceilings and proper heads-down moments.
The Maastricht-based producer has been steadily carving out his lane with rhythm-heavy, no-nonsense techno, backed by support from Eli Brown, Sam Paganini, Carl Cox, Alan Fitzpatrick, Ramon Tapia and more. His 2023 ‘System / Black Mirror’ EP helped push things forward, with further outings on Say What, AnalyticTrail, Kneaded Pains and Unity Records keeping the pressure on.
His latest move sees him reunite with Los Angeles-based TimeKube for their debut on Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD. Their ‘1001’ EP, released on 24th April 2026, is exactly where this sound belongs. ‘1001’ rolls with stripped-back drums, smoky synth work and a raw warehouse pulse, while ‘9009’ pushes darker, stacking percussion and rising synth tension into a proper peak-time weapon.
That same energy runs through today’s mix. Melvin keeps it tight and functional, moving through cuts from K-H1, Frank Biazzi, Agent Orange, Drumsauw, KMYLE, Kr!z and Hollen, alongside his own ‘Trippy Journey’ and collaborations with Drumsauw and TimeKube. No fluff, no wandering about. Just groove, drive and techno with its boots firmly on the floor.
Lock in, turn it up and catch Melvin Spix in full flow on the NUDE Techno Podcast.
Sum up this podcast in 10 words…
Rolling, grooy, oldskool techno
What’s your personal favourite track on it?
That’s a tough choice. But I think the Audio State remix is really strong. I think this is a track that could be played by a lot of DJs (raw/peak time/hypnotic)
What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
This mix consists mainly of rhythmic tracks. Some are a bit more peak-time, while others are a bit rawer. I really love this combination, and it comes through well in the mix.
Tell us about your next EP?
A 4 tracker EP on Ramon Tapia label Say What
What have you got coming up?
There’s a lot of new music coming out. A new EP on Hertz’s label (Sway), a massive remix package of the track with TimeKube, “Back To Basics,” on the Unity label. I also have another EP coming out on the Unity label.
That’s all I can say for now. As for shows, I have an ALL NIGHT LONG event at Complex Maastricht where I’ll be playing for 6 hours.
And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
Thank you all so much for your support!
