NUDE207: Fernando Lagreca

Share

Uruguayan-born and Barcelona-seasoned, Fernando Lagreca has been doing this longer than most bedroom DJs have had USBs. From synth-laced electronica to peak-time techno pressure, the man is a master of machines. And on this week’s techno podcast, he fires on all cylinders.

Lagreca’s live sets are a thing of legend, shaped by real hardware and an obsession with groove. This one’s packed with modular bounce, glitched-out melodies, and enough analogue warmth to light up the Funktion-One. It’s hypnotic, it’s high energy, and it slaps in all the right places.

The vibe? Think Laut meets Razzmatazz meets a Berlin basement at 5am. Charted on Beatport, rinsed by the heads, and built for dancefloors that don’t check the clock.

Tucked inside this hour: heavyweight rollers from AFFKT, Adam Beyer, and Tiga, alongside Fernando’s own new heat, including Night Catcher, a fierce remix of Federico Deutsch, and collabs with Pedro Mercado that ooze class.

The NUDE techno podcast is your fix for proper club energy, direct from someone who’s lived it, played it, and shaped it.

Today, he joins the NUDE Techno podcast with an hour of Techno. Listen to it below on SoundCloud & Mixcloud. If you are feeling this series, then please consider supporting it on Mixcloud Select.

Sum up this podcast in 10 words…
It’s a snapshot of my recent productions alongside tracks I’ve truly enjoyed from the latest promos. Stylistically, it travels from the raw textures of dark disco through melodic shades, gradually shifting into more full-bodied, club-oriented techno. Think of it as a sonic journey — eclectic, emotionally charged, and built for movement.

What’s your personal favourite track on it?
That’s never an easy call. Can I pick three?

The mix opens with a stunning track by AFFKT in collaboration with Island Hill. Bitters and Bread is a beautifully crafted pop-indie hybrid that works perfectly as an opener. It creates a cinematic mood from the outset.

Then there’s my collaboration with Pedro Mercado, titled Synchromised Circus. It’s part of our forthcoming EP on Chrom Recordings, and it blends driving grooves with twisted melodies.

And finally, I’d highlight my personal edit of Giorgio Love by Federico Deutsch, a longtime friend from Uruguay. Federico is an extraordinary composer who’s created everything from electronic music to theatre and film scores. This particular track is a tribute to Giorgio Moroder, and I felt inspired to reinterpret it into a more dancefloor-friendly version, ready for club systems.

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
Eclecticism, for sure. I don’t record mixes very often, but when I do, I like to imagine the kind of set I’d want to experience on a proper night out — something that surprises, shifts gears, and creates a proper sense of narrative. Crossing genre lines allows me to bring different emotions into play, and I believe that’s what gives this mix its own personality.

Tell us about your next EP.
The next release is a collaborative EP with Pedro Mercado on Chrom Recordings. We’ve worked together before, and I really value the way our creative approaches complement each other. He’s methodical and grounded, and that balance always brings out something exciting in our sessions.

The EP includes two original tracks: Cosmic Tide, which gives the record its title, and Synchromised Circus. Both lean into melodic and indie dance territory — rich arpeggios, emotive synth lines, and grooves built to connect. On the remix side, Andy de Gage brings a progressive reinterpretation of Cosmic Tide, full of tension and release, while Joe Fisher delivers a deeper, more introspective twist on Synchronised Circus.

It’s a record where analogue and digital meet; we used a blend of hardware and software to create textures that feel alive, spacious, and immersive. Think hypnotic melodies, solid low-end, and plenty of modular-flavoured FX, a toolkit designed for the floor, but with plenty of soul.

What have you got coming up?
After this EP, I’m part of a VA release on Tutu Records, a techno-focused label from Spain. I’m also deep in studio work at the moment, shaping ideas for upcoming releases.

On the live front, I’ve got a busy summer ahead with shows in France, Ibiza, and Germany, and several dates lined up for autumn in the Netherlands and back in Germany. I’ll also be playing in Barcelona for a couple of special events later in the year, which I’m really looking forward to.

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
Just a super thanks for tuning in to the mix. I hope it resonates with you as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Wishing you all a beautiful and music-filled summer, and of course, a big shout-out to the Data Transmission crew for the invitation and support.
