NUDE205: AOIFE

Share

Hold tight. AOIFE has just landed on our podcast, and it’s a steamroller.

The AOIFE techno podcast is pure low-end hypnosis. A full-throttle session built for dark rooms, late hours and proper heads-down dancing. This one’s soaked in subby pressure and concrete-floor energy. From the first kick to the last reverb tail, it’s techno that knows precisely where it belongs – in clubs, basements, and anywhere you need the walls to shake.

Originally from Belfast, AOIFE’s rise through the underground has been one to watch. You’ve caught her on Rinse FM, locked into HOR, and shelling down Tresor, Fold, Khidi and Bossa Nova Civic. Her sound? Think tonnes-heavy, brawny and unapologetic. No fluff. Just pure drive.

Resident Advisor nailed it when they said her mix hits hard without speeding up. This AOIFE techno podcast brings all of that – sculpted sound design, serious weight and an edge that cuts straight through.

Don’t sleep. This mix is a proper statement.

Today, she joins the NUDE Techno podcast, with an hour of Techno. Listen to it below on SoundCloud & Mixcloud. If you are feeling this series, then please consider supporting it on Mixcloud Select.

Sum up this podcast in 10 words…

Low-end heavy & dark soundscapes mould into driving deep techno.

What’s your personal favourite track on it?

Montero & Raul Alvarez – Arcadia. Great dubby vibes, although I’ve pitched it down for this mix, it’s a beautiful track in its entirety.

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?

Tension build & patience

Tell us about your next EP?

I just had a track come out as a VA on Re:flect. This was a track I made a little while ago so I’m happy to have it out in the world and especially for a great cause and one that is close to my heart. With this VA we are fundraising for those dealing with the ongoing political crisis in Georgia. Georgia’s democracy is under threat – along with its progressive communities & the country’s vibrant cultural & creative landscape.

Freedoms of assembly, art, expression & speech, as well as the rights of minorities, including the LGBTQIA* community, are being increasingly curtailed. Protests against the regime have been met with systematic repression, and the number of political prisoners is rising. Nevertheless, people have taken to the streets for 200 days, with marches drawing record-breaking crowds.

What have you got coming up?

I have some really nice gigs over the rest of the year & planning some tours for early next year. In the near future, there are a couple of B2B’s with friends that I am particularly looking forward to. Tengu, Dublin 15th August B2B Offtrack and 15th November for QS1 in Berlin with DJ Northern – first time playing with both but as well as being friends, they are extremely talented artists so I am excited to see what we can make happen in the booth. Then currently I am working on finishing my next music – watch this space x

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?

The world is a scary place at the moment, support where you can, whether that be attending demonstrations in support of Palestine, contributing to gofundme’s for Georgia or Ukraine, being mindful of what is going on in Pakistan, talking about what is happening in Sudan – the list can go on. But boycott where you can and also at home support independent venues, collectives & festivals! It’s not hard but I feel people can forget to include these things in their routines and it adds to the problem – every little helps.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
