Modeā (Cristian McDaid) is a young artist hailing from Donegal, Ireland. Already establishing himself with top tier productions, he quickly started to gain the attention of some of the biggest names in the game. Starting his musical journey early in his teenage years, Modeā has developed a sound like no other.
In March of 2020, he was picked up by techno legend Alan Fitzpatrick after hearing some of Modeā’s unreleased tracks and signed him to his label We Are The Brave which started the true hype of Modeā. Blossoming as one of Ireland’s most prestige talents, it’s clear to see why. Bringing immense energy through his DJ sets with a sound that showcases mind-bending techno and hypnotic melodies, Modeā is sure to lure you to the dance floor with his signature sound. He stays determined as he creates his own path on his musical journey to prove why he’s a name to watch carefully in the coming years.
Today, he joins the NUDE Techno podcast, with an hour of Techno. Listen to it below on SoundCloud & Mixcloud. If you are feeling this series, then please consider supporting it on Mixcloud Select.
Q1. Sum up this podcast in 10 words…
A collection of music to take you on a journey.
Q2. What’s your personal favourite track on it?
Personally, my favourite track from the mix would have to be Layton Giordani’s remix of For A Feeling. The way he was able to take the emotion from the original record and combine it with his own style is very impressive.
Q3. What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
The special ingredients in this mix consist of unreleased music by myself out later this year!
Q4. What’s the best gig you’ve played recently?
Before the coronavirus pandemic, I hadn’t really been doing many gigs wise. I had some really nice shows lined up for April through to June but unfortunately, they weren’t able to happen! Hopefully, once we start to see some normality in the world I’ll have a few gigs lined up but we’ll have to wait and see.
Q5. What have you got coming up?
I’ve got a new single on We Are The Brave’s Electric Soul Music Vol.2 Compilation which I’m hugely proud of considering it’s my debut on the boss man Alan Fitzpatrick’s label. Getting a signing with Alan was a major bucket list goal and I’m over the moon to say I’ve finally ticked it off of the list. Later in the year, I’ve got an EP coming on We Are The Brave but I can’t say too much about that one just yet!
Q6. And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
Just a huge thank you to everyone for the support from the beginning of my journey with the Modeā project. I hope everyone’s staying safe, sane and keeping the positive energy flowing throughout all the current madness. Also a massive thank you to Data Transmission for having me do a guest mix for NUDE. I hope everyone enjoys it!
