WeTransfer last month unveiled an exclusive interview series featuring musicians sharing the tracks that influenced and defined their work. They’ve enlisted Thris Tian – an accomplished DJ and co-founder of Boiler Room to host the series. This second episode was also recorded at Form Arcosanti Arizona with Julia Holter & Braids.
The series is part of WeTransfer’s ongoing exploration of not just the innovative art they feature on their homepage, but also the people and stories behind that art. Since WeTransfer launched in 2009, it has hosted visually stunning art as wallpapers on the WeTransfer.com homepage, curating pieces from the creative community, and giving away one third of its page views – 300 million/month – to help promote the artists featured.
“WeTalkMusic digs into who artists are, and how that identity formed,” said Lukas Nieuwenhuijsen, WeTransfer’s Music Partnership Director. “In this series we explore tracks that inspire and define them in ways that go beyond the formulaic interview format. We want artists to show different sides of themselves by selecting songs based on questions they wouldn’t normally be asked, to avoid the interview responses they’ve been repeating for years.”
