“For the few who were there to witness it, TB Arthur’s American debut was a revelation. The powerful sounds cranked out by this hooded figure were searing and twisted but reassuring in their overwhelming size and shape. There was no escaping his massive drums or alien synth lines and no one wanted to leave. By the end we all spoke acid fluently.”
Those are the words of Steve Mizek, best known as the founder of now sadly departed website LittleWhiteEarbuds.com and A&R chief for Argot and Tasteful Nudes, when witnessing what would go on to be a revered performance at Chicago nightspot Smart Bar.
Unfortunately DT wasn’t in attendance that night – painful as it is, we’ve accepted we can’t be everywhere at once – and so were buoyed by news that the anonymous artist’s North American live debut under the moniker would be seeing a full release.
Set to arrive December 8th via the T.B. Arthur Bandcamp page and on cassette, subscribers will also get his published back catalogue digitally and early access to future releases.
Billed as “a taste of things to come” the recording consists of around 60% unreleased material, leaving us hopeful of a big 2016 for the enigmatic producer.
