Stanley Kubrix & Benny Bace combine on the ‘All Out’ EP

Dark Shades would like to welcome both Stanley Kubrix & Benny Bace from Southern California. Stanley Kubrix brought us 2 amazing tracks that go with the new sound we are changing directions to with our label. We have been really looking forward to this ep release.

Taking the name of the eccentric director, Stanley Kubrix implements the obsessive qualities of the infamous director into his hypnotic beats and groovy basslines. Kubrix by working behind the scenes has gained support from top DJs With releases on Safe Music, Re-Play and Slightly Sizzled just to name a few. Kubrix has curated a strong local following in Los Angeles where his music is played consistently by local DJs in the underground House and Techno scene. Armed with his freshman debut EP which reached number 1 on the Beatport charts and with support from Beatport staff which featured his track for “Best New Tech House” Stanley Kubrix is geared to become a household name in the underground scene.

Kicking things off with the 1st track which has a Groove and bass which are the fundamentals of “All Out” taking inspiration from the boom-bap hip hop era, this track dives in with cocky basslines, crunchy hi-hats and Jazz piano samples. As music fanatics, Stanley Kubrix and Benny Bace pushed to connect the swagger of 90s Hip-Hop with the energy and vibes of modern Tech-House. This bassline focused track through its groove and formidable energy has proven itself to be a bridge between the club life and the afters.

For the B-side, we have “Down Like” Rolling back to the era of Disco infused Hip-Hop which bounces and bumps with analogue bass, disco bells and cocky vocals. Taking inspiration from early hip hop acts such as The Sugar Hill Gang, this one vibrates with the energy of Disco, Hip-hop and Tech-House. The analog bass lines drive the track forward with sprinkles of strong vocals to give the track energy and confidence all the while disco bells fade in to give the dancefloor the feeling of nostalgia and comfort for the break. expect this one at all the pool parties this summer.

We premiere ‘Down Like’ on Data Transmission today, check it out here and grab it here.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
