For the latest release on Doorly’s Reptile Dysfunction label, they present a VA EP titled ‘Doorly & Friends – Young ‘Uns EP1’ out on 14th July, comprising some of the extraordinary talent Doorly has unearthed on his travels: seven eclectic, left-of-centre house records for the wonky generation, which we premiere Charlie Rope’s ‘Cue Da Q’.
Over to Doorly to explain his motives and to introduce the gang…
“One of my main reasons for setting up Reptile Dysfunction was to shine the light on some of the amazing fresh talent I meet on the road, and to start to build a little crew to be part of my label family. I wanted to use this release as an opportunity to introduce you to these guys with a track from each of them to give you a little taster.
Charlie Rope is one of my team of young residents for my Ibiza Based Doorly & Friends parties on the Island. The boy has been on fire and we will be releasing his first full EP on Reptile Dysfunction in autumn, but here’s a teaser of his bouncy, sample based vibes.
I’m fully confident that you will be hearing a lot more from all the guys featured on this EP, not least on Reptile Dysfunction where I’m helping them put together their first full EPs.”
