Ozzie Guven makes his return to Whippin Records
Following a brief hiatus, Mason Collective’s ever-impressing Whippin Records imprint reveals the first release from its 2021 schedule as rising UK talent Ozzie Guven makes his return to the label to deliver his slick ’Neighbourhood’ EP, backed by a remix from Argentina’s Cajal.
Ozzie Guven is a name causing a stir across the underground house scene. It has seen Ozzie already land 2 Beatport Number One Releases, with tracks signed to highly revered labels: Whippin, Records, BeeYou, Surge, Rendr, Habits, Whoyostro, Hungarian Hot Wax & more.
The accolades keep on piling in for Ozzie, gaining recognition from industry heavyweights with ANOTR, Michael Bibi, PAWSA, Latmun and Toman among his biggest supporters. This has translated into a rapid increase in demand for Ozzie, taking his sound to some of the most iconic events and venues in the UK: 93 Feet East, Lakota Bristol, Lightbox London, Ministry of Sound, Steelyard London with his performances also taking to the hallowed white isle, Ibiza.
Title cut ’Neighbourhood’ welcomes a bustling, garage-tinged cut armed with slinking metallic production and resonant synth stabs, whilst ‘Honey Glaze’ lays the focus on swirling melodies, infectious vocal interjections and snaking bass grooves. To close, Cajal’s take on the title cut sees bubbling basslines meet punchy kicks and hooky vocal murmurs to shape up proceedings in style’.
