Share

Now in its fifth year, Electric Castle has established itself as Romania’s biggest and best electronic music festival and, with its eclectic lineup, unique setting and dedicated crowd, it’s not hard to see why.

The festival, which takes place between July 12th and 16th, has just announced a new wave of artists, such as Franz Ferdinand, Paul Van Dyk, Zedd, Unkle, Cassy, Timo Mass, Cedric Gervais, Francesco Lombardo, Mistajam and several others. With this wonderful blend of Rock, Trance, Minimal Techno, Hip Hop and Drum & Bass, there really is something for everyone on the agenda. Previously announced acts include Alt-J, Deadmau5, A-Trak, Ame Live, Claptone, Beardyman & The Masters of Distraction, Crazy P Soundsystem, Dixon, DJ Sneak, Duke Dumont, Eats Everything, House of Pain, Maceo Plex, MJ Cole, Moderat, Nero, Noisia, Reggae Roast, Slaves and Trentemøller.

Set within the walls of a 15th century castle, complete with a lake, secret party areas and hidden hammocks, the location for Electric Castle is nothing short of magnificent. As well as dancing your socks off to the aforementioned artists, you can admire art installations, take part in yoga classes, watch movies, comedy and even Tedx Talks, a new addition to the festival. This year, you can even opt to leave your tent behind and stay in a wood cabin, which houses up to four people.

To be one of the 130,000 merry revellers at Electric Castle this year, snap up a ticket before it’s too late! Tickets start at an incredibly reasonable £79 and can be purchased via the festival’s website – https://electriccastle.co.uk/tickets-info.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
