We love new at Data Transmission. We love fresh. We love exciting. So when somebody ticks all three of those boxes we don’t waste any further time in making sure we nab them for content before the rest of the world comes knocking.  Sharing our passion to support burgeoning talent and commitment to bringing you the stars of tomorrow, today is iconic UK tastemaker, Brownswood boss and all round good guy Gilles Peterson who has just announced his latest project: ‘Searching For The Perfect Beat: Future Bubblers’.

The talent initiative seeks to find and support 10 of the UK’s freshest grassroots musicians, rappers and producers, which it will do through an application or nomination process. Successful applicants – selected in September – will then benefit from a year of talent development and mentorship from the Brownswood team, helping them to make sense of the maze that is the music industry.

Each year the search will focus on talent from three cities with Nottingham and Salford being the first two selected whilst nominations are open for people to elect a third city for this year.

There are multiple ways in which applicants can apply to be a part of this years project from an online submission form right through to a classic ‘record drop’ at local stores. A special drop box, designed by Josephine Chime, will be placed in partner record stores based in each focus city.
