EPiKA Fifth Anniversary presents: Sara Delirio, ona:v, Iona Violet

EPiKA marks its fifth anniversary on 7th August 2026 at The Liquid Room Warehouse, having built a reputation in Edinburgh’s club scene around underground techno, femme lineups and a returning crowd.

The night was founded by Weronika Borek, known by her artist name ona:v. EPiKA was created to fill a gap in Edinburgh’s club scene: there were few spaces playing the type of techno she was passionate about, and fewer still platforming emerging techno artists, particularly femme DJs. The night began as a way to build that space, discover and platform new talent, and open a space centred on music, atmosphere and connection.

Over five years, EPiKA has grown from shows at The Mash House and Sneaky Pete‘s, through collaborations with Hidden Door Festival, to its current home at The Bongo Club. The first Bongo Club show, headlined by resident Iona.Violet, drew more than 400 people, confirming the night could scale beyond its original venues.

“When we first received contact from EPiKA describing their project, we didn’t have availability but knew instantly that it would be a great match for The Bongo Club’s core programme. So we waited till an opening appeared, held it for them and are so glad we did.” — Venue Manager Ally Hill recalls.

EPiKA’s community includes pre-drink rituals between regulars, newcomers and DJs, a group chat with first-look announcements, and regulars who arrive early for the support sets. Over time, this has built a crowd that returns for the night without the need for the night to rely on obvious headliners.

“No club night exists without the people who come to every night,” says ona:v. “ And EPiKA has lasted precisely because these people trust us. They come for the residents, for the opening sets, for the new names, for the pre-drinks, and for each other. The community around the night and the quality of the music during the night are the two things I am most proud of.”

The night centres femme DJs and books local artists alongside international guests, selecting DJs based on the music they play. Artists who have played EPiKA before going on to wider recognition include Isabel Soto, Paige, Kessie, A.mo and Leah Kyveli. EPiKA’s residents also headline events, which sell alongside the bigger guest lineups.

EPiKA also runs DJ workshops at Paradise Palms, with community tickets available. The collective has expanded its programme with SOFT nights, focused on electronica.
