London’s Ellie Cocks pairs up with Resonance Records founder Max Chapman for three lively house numbers with fellow ABODE residents Will Taylor and George Harrison on remix duties.
Chapman’s 2016 has been impressive from the off, appearing on Lost Records, VIVa, Snatch! and Incorrect, not to mention his lauded debut album on MadTech. Our Debut Transmission today is the lead track ‘Taking Over’ which drives forward with the help of an infectious male vocal hook as a rumbling bassline operates throughout, making way for a more percussive and rhythmic remix from GW in comparison.
For those that have been hanging around Studio338 on a Sunday for the last year or so the name Ellie Cocks (check out our introducing feature here) is not new to you at all. As one of the key residents at the hugely popular ABODE Sunday parties, she has blossomed into one of todays upcoming talents behind the decks, commanding the dance floor with a bouncy and beaming grin, that is a delight to see. We’ve been following for her a while; eagle eye Data Transmission readers will remember she featured on our spotlight mix series back in October.
Max Chapman & Ellie Cocks ‘Taking Over’ EP is out on Resonance Records on 29th July 2016.
