Matveï Sets the tempo on genre-bending club cut ‘MY MIND’

Rising French DJ / producer Matveï returns with a peak-time dance-floor ready anthem ‘MY MIND’, lifted from his new EP ‘TALES_FOR_NIGHTCLUBS_III’ out through Kitsuné Musique this summer.

This EP is the final and third instalment of Matveï’s ‘Tales From Nightclubs’ series, with parts one and two released earlier this year. Matveï perfects his hedonistic spin on the genre with a dollop of upfront house and genre-hopping influences.

He says: “MY MIND is the closing track of the TALES FOR NIGHTCLUBS EP trilogy. The idea was to create a cosy house jam – just in time for Fall. Bea Anderson’s incredibly catchy vocal performance inspired by 2000s R&B blends amazingly well with the warm chords of the song. For the beat, I took elements from various drum machines as well as interesting percussions. This year has been all about experimenting with different structures, styles and sonorities. I believe the challenge is successfully completed.”

Matveï is a one to watch for the new generation. Brought up on Electronic and Rap music, the French producer makes up an exciting cocktail of international house and urban club sounds. Spotted by Kitsuné Musique while just turning 18, his first releases quickly raised his profile on international tastemakers’ radar – with support from Martin Garrix and official remixes for Future Classic, Liv Dawson and Crystal Fighters. Already supported by Brut, BBC Radio1 and peaking at #3 on NACC (Electronic), Matveï’s trajectory is on the rise.
