Spotlight Mix: Poté

This week’s Spotlight Mix looks to the soca and kuduro-influenced carnival sound of Poté to encourage the sunny weather to stay a little longer.

Dropping his debut Voyeurism EP for Lisbon label, Enchufada, and a self-released free 2-tracker titled Oryx, last year, the St. Lucia-born, London-based producer picked up a lot of attention from the likes of Toddla T, Breakage, Monki and Annie Mac – the latter of whom released another Poté track recently as part of her Free Music Mondays series.

For his Spotlight Mix, Poté goes off the beaten path somewhat, offering up an eclectic blend of house, overflowing with topical rhythms. “This mix felt quite liberating creating because it’s so varied in style to what I’d usually do,” says Poté, “it’s full of tracks that I love but never really get the chance to/can’t play out or place in my mixes.” Tracklist below.
