This Saturday 4th June, ONYX Ibiza alongside KRPT London, 2016’s IMS visionary winners, are giving music lovers a chance to explore the beauty of live techno with the use of a 9 foot synthesizer designed to replicate the legendary Roland TB-303 at London’s brand new electronic festival Junction 2.
The scaled up device is one of a kind modelled after a legendary synthesizer that has a place within most electronic producers hearts. Known for having a defining role in contemporary music, the time has now come for everyone to have a go! The device was created by the creative minds at Ray Interactive based in Edinburgh, who a few years ago also created a giant 909 replica. The device will be set up in a tent near the main stage and will allow people to experience analogue music on a scale never before seen. The aim behind the concept is to get more people making music live and support the art of improvisation. The device will be free for anyone to play around with and will even have Techno heavyweights Dense & Pika and Alan Fitzpatrick giving it a whirl after their set.
Luke Farrugia is the manager and curator of ONYX IBIZA, an exciting new techno event launching in Ibiza. They’ve been invited for 12 weeks every Monday to Space this summer and have prepared an incredible line up dedicated to explore the darker side of techno music, a high-end project that combines electronic music and 3D mapping in a bespoke production that promises to be the sensation on the White Island this season, and certainly a treat for true techno lovers. The full-line up includes legendary acts from Dave Clarke, Harvey McKay, Surgeon, Blawan, Benjamin Damage, Answer Code Request and more.
“I’ve never seen anything like it at a festival and it’s one of the reasons why we thought it would be such a great fit for Junction 2, Onyx will be showcasing some of the best live techno acts in the world this summer and we want people to appreciate the art of analogue music and it’s role in our culture. I’m glad we’ve found a festival who are looking to create authentic experiences for their fans as well. ” Luke Farrugia
