Originally based in the heart of the East End’s bustling Old Street area and after opening his unique barber shop concept in 2012 – a place where fine grooming and cultural activity go hand in hand – Huckle the Barber will be opening his next establishment on Lamb’s Conduit Street, Bloomsbury, in January 2016.
Huckle the Barber bring their same mix of high quality grooming, craft beer, music and comedy nights to the WC2 location – creating another unique cultural destination for the sharp, modern day man. Huckle the Barber offers a refreshing, gimmick free experience to it’s customers and friends, with quality grooming and comfort at the heart of their plans.
The barbers working at the shop itself are all session stylists, hand picked and nurtured by owner Chris Ward, including some of the top session stylists in the world (many of whom are off cutting celebrity hair or working on high-end fashion shoots when not grooming their regular customers on Huckle’s vintage chairs. As the premises became teeming with locals and passers by, Chris decided to open a second branch on Lamb’s Conduit Street, Holborn, bringing the casual, friendly and olde-neighbourhood barbershop to a new, mature WC1 crowd.
Huckle the Barber’s friendly, relaxed and multifunctional atmosphere is also a place to relax and unwind. Huckle’s refreshments list is second to none, with a selection of craft beer (on tap) and more. The shop also plays host to it’s own bi-monthly Cut Throat Comedy night on the 2nd Thursday every two months. The show is free to Huckle the Barber clients and friends. So far, comedians include Tony Law, Simon Munnery, Richard Herring, Brian Gittins, Trevor Lock, Gerry Howell, Bobby Mair to name but a few.
Flanked by a full-specification Bowers and Wilkins Soundsystem, Huckle also invites bands who are playing in the area to play an acoustic session with recent guests including Widowspeak, Girls Names and Get Cape Wear Cape Fly with more to come in the following months.
