Wrekka lands on new label Breakbeats & Basslines
The last few years have seen an abundance of extremely talented producers emerge out of Cardiff. However, not many have made quite the impact that Wrekka has.
The high standard of music production that Wrekka has constantly developed over the past twelve months, has been phenomenal. He has found himself not once but twice sitting at the top of the Juno album charts this year. Intertwine this with the quality and versatility of Wrekka’s face screwingly good Drum & Bass and the result is the manifestation of the perfect artist for Breakbeats & Basslines to officially launch their brand new imprint with.
Wrekka delivers a six-track piece of musical art entitled the ‘XX EP’ (the Roman numeral translation to 20). It acts as a musical encapsulation of the emotional ride that 2020 has been. The EP showcases a darker and more minimalistic side to Wrekka that hasn’t been seen on his previous releases. He serves up a blend of body shuddering subs, crisply manufactured drums and mouth-watering bass stabs. These tracks will be a delightful taste for the palette of any Drum & Bass fan.
With past releases on SW, Dutty Bass Audio, Breakbeats & Basslines and Eternal Muzik already under his belt, the future is looking bright for Wrekka. We expect to see him on some bigger labels next year and will be keeping one eye firmly on his movements!
Today we premiere ‘Dark Corridors’, check it out below. Wrekka’s ‘XX EP’ drops as a Juno Download exclusive on the 11th December. Help get this exciting new label off the ground and grab a copy from here
