Renegade Riddims: Grintax

Meet Grintax – the beat maestro hailing from Belgium. His love affair with music kicked off a cool 12 years ago, sparked by the electric vibes of countless events and festivals that set his soul on fire for bass-heavy tunes.

After fine-tuning his craft and letting his creative juices flow for what seemed like ages, he finally dropped his debut single in 2021, sending shockwaves through the scene.

Known as a bit of a stickler for perfection among his crew, he’s earned their respect and forged solid friendships thanks to his no-nonsense attitude.

Now, fast forward to 2024, and it looks like this year is gonna be massive for Grintax. He’s cooking up a storm with a slew of new releases and remixes in the pipeline. Plus, he’s gearing up to throw down some serious beats on the DJ decks, delving deeper into the world of Drum & Bass.

With his sights set on crafting the ultimate deep, dark sound, the future’s shining bright for this rising star.

Myself and Grintax were quite recently introduced to each other by our mutual friend, the hugely talented and one of the nicest and most hard-working people in our scene, pyxis! We worked together to bring you a free download of Grintax’s bootleg of Kid Cudi ‘At The Party’ Ft. Pharell & Travis Scott, you can check that out below!

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?

Drive and passion. The prospect of doing this mix for DT really gave me an immense motivation to finish up music to play.

Tell us about your next EP…

It’s near completion. I got 2 vocalists on features for it that I absolutely love, as well as a collab with a very good friend of mine. Release date TBC

What have you got coming up?

Some small gigs and a handful of releases left and right.

When was the last time you actually raved?

Back in November for the first Abyssal Music label night.

Just enjoy the mix, and if you see an artist in the tracklist you don’t know, look them up and dig into them. There’s way too many underrated artists out there not getting the spotlight they deserve IMO.
