Octo Pi drops his ‘Conversations’ EP on Intrigue Music

Octo Pi delivers his take on the Intrigue Music sound with his ‘Conversations’ EP. Inspired by a trip to New Zealand with his wife, Lady Tate, the track titles represent the journey from North to South Island.

The title track ‘Conversations’ is a collaboration with label boss Ben Soundscape, taking its name from a meeting of minds upon their return to the UK, where they were able to share plans for both travel and musical adventures.

The artwork is a shot Octo Pi captured of Milford Sound whilst on his travels, a glacial fjord in the southwest of South Island, perfectly embodying the spirit of this release. (See the artwork at the bottom of the article!)

A complex and delicately textured EP with layered live effects and guitar straight from Octo Pi’s Fender Telecaster, this EP is a testament to the musicality of this talented producer.

Octo Pi’s back catalogue, after years of hard work in the studio, is nothing short of jaw-dropping with a huge arsenal of original material and remixes under his belt. His style can only be described as ‘Up Front’, with most of his tracks featuring immensely strong and punchy drums coupled with complex melodic basslines set on a backdrop of euphoric, evolving pads. He’s equally at home producing blissed-out, rolling, vocal-heavy Liquid Drum and Bass as he is producing balls to the floor, techy-driven steppers.

Today we premiere ‘Volcanic’ which is glorious liquid vibes with a wubby bassline and intricate keys. Check it out below! The ‘Conversations’ EP drops via Intrigue Music on 23rd July, make sure you grab yourself a copy from the purchase button.
