Greazus drop ‘Phantasia’ EP on Defrostatica Records

Share

The ‘Phantasia’ EP is the culmination of nearly 2 combined decades of experience going out raving, producing music, DJing, running record labels and promoting underground shows in Vancouver by two of the city’s most renowned and prolific bass music ambassadors – HxdB & Patrik Cure aka Greazus.

When the longtime friends and well-established producers and DJs decided to join forces as Greazus back in 2015, they knew that their collective power would be greater than the individual. Based on their collective experience running their record label, Aufect, and throwing several parties and events in the Vancouver area, they already had a great synergy working together. It has been this synergy that is the bedrock and vision behind the newly founded Triple A Agency, of which the two are founding directors. Their tireless work ethic, shared passion and love of music have been distilled into their music and performances and are a big factor in their success on and off stage.

The four tracks on the ‘Phantasia’ EP are pure rave material with plenty of hardcore DNA and moments of ecstasy. Greazus contributed to the acclaimed Hybrid Hooks label compilation in the summer of 2021 with ‘Like This’ (feat. Klose) followed by the single ‘Raverz’ later that year. Their trademark peak time sound features influences of UK hardcore, jungle and electro.

Opening up the EP is the title track ‘Phantasia’ simple described as when amen breaks, acid lines and chords of ecstasy collide. Next up ‘WTF’ is a hybrid monster of boiling electro, acid and Drum & Bass ingredients. Following on ‘Retro Active’ has a legendary intro and massive drop on this turbolicious roller. Closing out the EP is ‘Raverz’ which is an ode to the “all comers are welcome” mantra of club raves across the globe.

Today we premiere ‘Phantasia’ which you can check out below. The EP drops via Defrostatica Records on Friday 8th April and is available for you to grab from here!
