Chromatic drop a track on Dope Plates VA

‘Dope On Plastic’ is a new various artist EP series on Dope Plates. The series showcases four 90s influenced tracks from both established and new artists. Vol 01 features Sicknote & Dissect, label regulars Chromatic and Acid Lab plus new signings Dark Ops and Alg0rh1tm.

Since teaming up in 2010, Bristol-based drum ’n’ bass duo Chromatic – real names Leon Bailey and Joe Rossitter – have released music on many labels including Playaz, Innerground, V Recordings, Crucast, CIA, Commercial Suicide, Fokuz, Formation Records, Utopia Music and Lossless Music.

The pair’s refusal to conform to one specific style of DnB has resulted in dozens of plays o BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM, plus DJ support from the scene’s most respected selectors including Roni Size, DJ Hype, DJ Marky, LTJ Bukem, Rene LaVice, Kanine, London Elektricity and more.

Original productions aside, Chromatic have remixed artists including DJ Fresh, MC $pyda and E-Z Rollers. The pair’s track ‘Sunrise’, produced for Bru-C’s album ‘Original ‘Sounds’, is on track for a million Spotify plays, while their unofficial remix of Pharoah Monch’s ‘Simon Says’ continues to be a secret weapon for countless DJs.

Away from the studio, Chromatic are also seasoned DJs, playing at events such as DJ Marky & Friends at Fabric and Detonate Festival, as well as bookings abroad in Czech Republic and New Zealand.

Today we premiere ‘Freshley Squeezed’ from the ‘Dope On Plastic’ EP which as stated earlier is very heavily 90s influenced. From the gully bassline to the vocal it screams old skool!
