Premiere: Primitive Soul – Wonderlist

Share

Declan Canning’s Connection Recordings is back with another fine release to keep up its great start so far. Behind this one is Primitive Soul, a fast rising star who serves up two killer cuts here.

The first is our Debut Transmission, Wonderlist, a tough seven minute techno banger with frazzled synths and big hi hat ringlets that force you into a dance. It is powerful and well produced stuff to really stand out in the mix. Then comes Dyno, something much more elastic and playful in nature. The kicks are rubbery and robust, the bass is slick and the whole thing skews about with some tortured chords up top.

Both these cuts are sure to prove dance floor dynamite for any DJs who drop them and dancers who hear them.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
