LarryLuxe lands on Moi Records with a GMGN’s remix

Share

LarryLuxe lands on Moi Records this week with the Keep The Night Alive EP, out April 15, and we’ve got the premiere of GMGN’s remix.

Boston’s Moi Records has been building its own lane, soulful house, disco leanings and proper feel in the grooves, and moi007 keeps that run moving nicely. LarryLuxe is right at home here too, bringing the kind of vocal house energy that feels built for packed floors, hands-up moments and the point where the night suddenly finds a second wind.

The original cuts straight for that sweet spot. Big chant, chunky bass, warm Rhodes and a synth line that keeps everything pushing forward. But GMGN takes a different route on his remix, and it works. He strips things back to the bones, gives the vocal more room and locks it into a classic house framework with fat kicks, open hats and a disco bassline that does plenty of damage without shouting about it.

There’s a proper late-night feel to this one. Less arms-in-the-air, more locked-in heads-down movement. The sort of record that sneaks up on a room and ends up carrying it.

Alongside remixes from Furious plus DJ Bookum and Paulinnate, and LarryLuxe’s own Funky Mix, this is another strong step for the Boston label.
