Wanklemut selects 5 Hot Tracks for Ibiza this August

The curiously named Wankelmut aka Jacob Dilssner is something of a phenomenon. The Berlin based DJ who doesn’t curate that classic Berlin techno sound and comes from a folk background took the entire world by surprise when his unofficial version of Asaf Avidans ‘One Day’ became one of the most played tracks on youtube garnering over 75 million views and 8 national number ones along the way.

He had a productive 2015 remixing tracks by Hozier, Lenny Kravitz, Röyksopp, Talisco, Karin Park, Lane8 and most recently he finished his great interpretation of “Down To Earth” by Flight Facilities.  In the summer of 2016 started his own Ibiza Night “Wankelmut & Friends” at Amnesia and released his new “Sirens EP” on Poesie Musik / Get Physical.  Wanklemut is playing at Amnesia this Sunday 21st for People From Ibiza presents “Wankelmut Welcomes”.

We asked him to pick his 5 Hot Tracks for Ibiza this August, check them out below!

Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons – Sacred Dance of The Demon (Gorgon City Remix):
I am quite a big fan of the Gorgon City guys and a regular listener to their Rinse FM show. Again they drop a heavy remix for Damian Lazarus latest project on Crosstown Rebels. The latino vocals fit so well with their UK House production and totally make sense for Ibiza 2016.

Martin Waslewski – Closer
Mother Recordings is constantly on the rise and drop big tune after big tune. For this one Martin Waslewski delivers a great House Tune catching the vibe of the late 90’s with tracks like „Big Love“ by Pete Heller. Vocals are handled by Germany’s Queen of R&B Joy Denalane.

Harry Romero feat. Jessica Eve & RT: Rude
Following the 90s Vibe another big one for 2016 comes from oldschool house veteran Harry Romero. On Armada / Subliminal he drops „Rude“ which is a classic house banger that is rocking every dancefloor. You really can „smell & feel“ Ibiza with this one.

Whomadwho – Hi & Low (Konstantin Sibold’s Acid Mix):
Obviously a “must have” for 2016 so this will be showcased heavily in Ibiza this year. After his groundbreaking track „Mutter“ Konstantin Sibold delivers this remix a second chapter with his big room Techno meets Trance sound.

Bob Moses – Tearing Me Up (Tale Of Us Remix):
Bob Moses is a great electronic music duo from Vancouver Canada. I admire their work for quite some time. Now the managed to get Italy’s finest “Tale Of Us“ to remix their track „Tearing Me Up“ out on Domino Rec. Perfectly they melt melancholic techno chords with the great vocals of the original track. Atmospheric stuff for Afterhours.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
