MC Stormin Loses His Battle With Cancer
Share
MC Stormin, who was a member of Drum & Bass crew SASASAS, has died.
He was diagnosed with a form of skin cancer two years ago, according to reports on social media. Stormin grew up as a fan of jungle music, and his hugely energetic live performances along with regular slots on Deja Vu FM, with a Monday night show featuring the likes of Dizzee Rascal and Durrty Goodz. He won Best Crowd Hype DnB MC at DnB Awards in 2016 and his recent album #BRB (Be Right Back) detailed his battle with cancer directly.
The news was reported by DJ Phantasy, who posted on Instagram: “So gutted to be typing this. My brother Stormin sadly passed away this morning. He battled til the very end. The strongest person I’ve ever known. I’ll always make sure no one ever forgets you my bruva.”
From all us at Data Transmission, our thoughts are with his family and friends.
Other tributes have come in via social media.
Plastician wrote: “Sad, sad news today. Even sadder that we were all waiting for it. Cancer has taken away a pillar of the grime scene’s foundations and one of drum and bass’s most energetic performers. We’ll never forget you Stormin.”
Very sad day. RIP Stormin MC 🙏🏾
