Following on from news that he had signed his hotly anticipated debut album to Luaka Bop and Pluto Records, Sam Shepherd, better known by his musical moniker Floating Points has unveiled the the 7 track effort’s opening number ‘Nespole’.
Titled ‘Elaenia’, the LP will be released on vinyl, CD and as a digital download with the first 200 orders receiving a print of the album’s artwork created by a specially built harmonograph and comes over five years after his breakout Vacuum EP.
Although his sound has progressed over the years, incorporating a plethora of different stylings from across the electronic spectrum, Points has his roots in classical, seamlessly blending it with forward thinking sounds around a digital aesthetic. Continuing with this melting pot sound, his album promises to be a snapshot of exactly where he’s at in 2015.
