Draxx (ITA) steps up with a rolling, percussive workout on this week’s podcast!
Fresh off his link-up with Nick Francis on Sound D’Elite, Draxx (ITA) lands on Data Transmission with a tight, club-focused mix that does exactly what you want it to. No filler, just movement.
The Italian has been building this lane for a while now. Releases on Desolat, Nervous and Trick, plus that ‘Future of Dance’ nod, have put him in the right circles. The ‘I Needa’ EP shows where he’s at right now, groove-led, rhythmic and built for busy floors.
This mix leans straight into that energy. Latin pressure from Evelio Escobar’s ‘Mi Tierra’, rolling cuts like Twolate’s ‘Afrolatino’, and that low-slung swing on Lotten and Delatorre’s ‘Gata Celosa’. His own ‘Pa Miami’ with Cvmpanile slots in clean, while ‘Believe’ with Nick Francis keeps things driving late on.
It’s heads down, hips moving stuff. The kind that works in basements and doesn’t let up.
Lock in and run it back.
Today, he joins us on the podcast for the first time. Listen to it below, on Mixcloud or Apple Podcast here.
Sum up this podcast in 10 words…
This podcast is a blend of energetic and fresh grooves combined with Latin influences that define my sound. I think it’s versatile and works perfectly for both daytime and nighttime vibes.
What’s your personal favourite track on it?
My favorite track in this podcast is “Believe,” my new collaboration with Nick Francis. I’ve put a lot of work into this record and I’m really happy with the energy and vibes it delivers. It’s still unreleased at the moment, but I have high expectations for it.
What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
The secret ingredient of this mix is passion. The tracks I played are the same ones I listen to during the day, when I train, and when I relax. I believe it’s easier to find harmony when you do exactly what you love.
Tell us about your next EP?
My new EP “I Needa” is one of the projects I’m most proud of. Both tracks are club bangers, and so far the feedback from DJs and dancefloors has been amazing. The A side, “I Needa,” blends 90s hip hop influences with an underground groove, resulting in a powerful club track ready to destroy the best clubs. The B side, “Sensation,” combines a house and soul vocal with a very percussive minimal groove, creating a truly sensational atmosphere.
What have you got coming up?
I have a big summer tour coming up with many major events such as Elrow, Empire Festival, and other shows yet to be announced in Ibiza, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and many more, including a tour in South America. I also have a lot of new music on the way with labels like Elrow Music, Insomniac, Area10, and others.
And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
Thank you so much to everyone who supports underground music. Your constant support gives us the strength to keep working and improving day by day. See you on the dancefloor.
