Born in Kobe and now deep in Berlin mode, SUDO is the alias of brothers Isao and Takashi Sudo. From rock and jazz roots to rolling, club-tested techno, their sound is pure evolution. Add decades of experience and releases on SCI+TEC, MINUS, Deeperfect, Gem, and more, and you’re in very safe hands.

What is your favourite track on this podcast?
Difficult question, we’re playing two tracks from the EP ‘We Are Free’ which we recently released on Drumcode, but other than that, I personally think Adam Beyer’s recent album released on Drumcode is a masterpiece, and this time we played the track ‘Boundless’ from that album, as well as ‘Rise Above’, our great collaboration with Jam El Mar from Jam & Spoon, which will be released on Zoomer on 15 August.
What are the special elements of this mix?
From a DJ’s perspective, I don’t feel the need to categorise music by genre, and we enjoy playing a variety of music rather than sticking to one genre. So, we played our own sense of what feels good, without genre restrictions.
Can you tell us about your next EP?
As mentioned earlier, the collaboration track Rise Above with Jam El Mar from Jam & Spoon will be released on 15 August on Zoomer, and a remix for my old friend GAGA will be released on his label Dark Face. Additionally, under our other project
SUDO BROTHERS, which is focused more on free style of music, we created a remix for Dougal Fox, which turned out melodic and very satisfying. It will be released on 5 September.
What are your future plans?
I’m currently in Japan, and we will be touring Tokyo playing at Womb, Osaka, Sapporo, and Seoul, South Korea. Once I return to Berlin, we plan to focus on gigs in Europe / Japan, some very interesting collaborations, and our solo work. We are also planning to play in South and North America.
