Micha Klang & Kuroneko – Revolution

Label: TablaScore: 8/10

The new Tabla imprint returns after a well-received maiden voyage brandishing a rich but obliquely-cornered deep tech-house mole-detector.

Micha Klang and the half-Japanese Dusseldorf-based Kuroneko have been recording together since 2011, having released tackle on Holic Trax and Adult Only. Here, they set up a low-flying stealth groove topped with soft-focus keyboard motifs and midway snatch of muffled gopher dogging.

There’s also a sublime remix from Ekkohaus, riding the release of his No School debut album with a bouncy but low-slung garage-stained throb-up, topped with class war ruminations.

Meanwhile, ‘Soleil’ injects the techno with major kick and intricate riffage, cloaked in luminescent sheen, before ‘Famicon’ burrows further down to earth worm’s portaloo level, again drenched in that hallucinogenic shimmer which are one of many very attractive qualities about this pair’s music.
