Dirtybird BBQ Tour to hit Denver early
After winning a date in this year’s fan vote, the famed Dirtybird BBQ series will be making a stop in Denver early this summer. Scheduled for June 8th, the SF-based crew is slated to take over the Fillmore Auditorium and surrounding Clarkson Street area for a proper downtown BBQ throwdown.
The BBQs, which have become staples in the label’s summer-time schedule, are outdoor family affairs that take place at a select few locations each year. They Dirtybird team has done an excellent job curating these events each year, capturing the true essence of some of the earliest parties the label threw in the early 2000s, and the resulting product has fans travelling across the country to ensure attendance.
Denver’s BBQ boasts a lineup with a healthy dose of both label veterans and rising talents in today’s house music scene. Label-head Claude von Stroke will be joined by long-time favorites and co-conspirators J Phlip and Christian Martin along with one of the hottest duos in the world currently, Walker & Royce. Rounding out the lineup is ZDS and VNSSA, the latter of which still fresh off the release of “Word”, a massive collaboration with the Walker & Royce boys that released on HotBoi Records and has seen significant air time across the globe.
However, it wouldn’t be a BBQ without some proper grub, would it? The 5 cities on this year’s BBQ schedule (Denver, LA, Bay Area, Austin, and Brooklyn) will be selling BBQ Feast tickets that will feature carefully crafted menus in honour of OG Dirtybird family member Chris “Grill$on” Wilson, who passed away last summer. The Dirtybird crew is working carefully with some incredibly well-respected chefs to curate menus for each stop. Both traditional and vegetarian options are available for purchase.
Doors for this one open at 12:00pm, with music kicking off at 1:00pm. The event is 18+.
