Desert Hearts Records Releases Family & Friends Vol. 1 Compilation

Desert Hearts has emerged as a platform for growth for the West Coast House and Techno community since its inception in the Mojave just four years ago.  Led by Mikey Lion, Desert Hearts is a collaboration between San Diego based DJs Lee Reynolds, Marbs, and Lion’s younger brother, Porkchop, along with the creative mind of Christopher Kristoff.

Today, they celebrate their inaugural Family & Friends Compilation featuring a collection of tracks by artists who exist very near to the beating heart of this musical and cultural movement.

The compilation is kicked off with the help of the red hot Latmun, who has made a run for global stardom since making his North American debut at the Desert Hearts Spring Festival this year. Berlin based Andreas Henneberg follows up his Spring release on the label with another bomb and from the East Coast House, we see duo Eyes Everywhere into the Desert Hearts family, add to this a slew of Desert Hearts favorites like Fritz Carlton, Lubelski, Treavor Moontribe, RYBO, Kevin Anderson, Kell Bill, JTZ, Buala, and Tripsy.

In label boss Mikey Lion’s own words…“I’m really excited to put out our first Desert Hearts Records Family & Friends Vol. 1. Alongside favorite international DH veterans like Andreas Henneberg and Latmun, the compilation really highlights some of our best friends who’ve been the backbone of the Desert Hearts movement for years. They’ve been putting in work for years and this is their introduction to the world. I’m so proud of every single artist on this compilation and can’t wait for the world to hear what they’re all about.”

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
