Lisa Jane joins the Spotlight Mix

One of the new wave of DJs inspired by the recent disco revival, Lisa Jane has quickly made a name for herself in and around Leeds with her infectious blend of funky, disco and house blended with a tougher late-night edge.

Inspired by the classic vocal sounds of Dimitri from Paris, Joey Negro, Dr Packer and Dennis Ferrer – and with her big sisters passing down their Motown and Disco collection, Lisa started DJing four years ago and has quickly ticked off some of the best best venues in Leeds including Distrikt, Old Red Bus Station, Church and current hot-ticket The Moretti Club where she now holds a residency. Alongside that, she was signed up for her Nothing But The Beat radio show that showcased the best disco and house action from across the world.

Unsurprisingly, that success brought her nationwide gigs, playing in Brighton, Birmingham, Essex, several high-profile corporate gigs, and her on-going residency at the stylish late-night bar Vine in Halifax.

With her own productions in the bag and a busy gig schedule that has closed out 2018, expect to hear a lot more from Lisa Jane over the next few years.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
