Ben Kim joins the Spotlight Mix

Coming from Italy, Ben Kim takes inspiration from those new tech-house influences to create a fresh groove inspired by the English and the European underground movement. The Teramo native quickly starts to emerge with his productions signing tracks on labels like Repopulate Mars, Sola & NONSTOP.

Ben Kim immediately drew the attention of some of the biggest artists in the underground scene. Ben is about to make his debut on Gorgon City’s label: Realm Records with an explosive tech-house record “Somebody to Love” inspired by Jefferson Airplanes classic track. This track has already been supported by many DJs worldwide and is about to make some noise on the dance floor.

Having rocketed to the top of the Beatport charts in 2021 with ‘Somebody To Love’ on Gorgon City’s REALM Records, racking up a wealth of BBC Radio 1 love, Italian DJ and producer Ben Kim has kept things moving this year with a slick remix via Matthias Tanzmann’s Moon Harbour. Delivering his first original of 2022, he makes a trip to Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars for the playful and frisky sonics of new single, ‘Tear The Club Up’.

Combining tough drums underneath slinking hats, weighty basslines and mischievous vocals, ‘Tear The Club Up’ unveils a peak-time anthem from the rising talent as he delivers on his label debut.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
