Kotelett & Zadak – Triphoria Remixed

Label: Hommage
Release Date: Out Now
The excellent Hommage label serves up yet more tasty treats for DJs and dancers. This time the latest EP is based around the work of the skilled pairing of Kotelett & Zadak, who have been have been working together since 2008. Over the years they have kicked out jams on labels like Hi Freaks, Acker Records and Katermukke  and now their latest full length gets remixed.

Seven different artists tackle seven different tunes and as you would expect the results are varied and vital in equal measure. Monkey Safari, the acclaimed tech house duo, go first. Their remix is dark and broody and builds to a slow but sensuous peak. Martin Waslewski then flips the title track into a deep, spiritual house cut with massive kicks and chilly chords. Elsewhere Viktor’s Happy remix of And And And is a carefully constructed one that allows you to wallow in his sombre bass meanderings and percolating percussion.

Filbert’s ORS Boogie virsion of Everything I Do is slow and colourful, playful and charming. It has loopy drums, muttered vocals that add real heat and some spraying basslines and lush finger clicks that really stand out. Continuing on a deep tip, Prismic keep things well back room and subterranean with their stripped back and heady affair, Soukie & Windish offer a more driving, tech house inclined version of Bodys In The Night and Orkit proves he has a knack for spaced out, cosmic house with his spiralling pads and suspensory grooves.

Everything here is well produced and full of very real emotions, coming together for what is once more a stunning release on the Hommage imprint.
