Renegade Riddims: T-Cutt
Share
Tim Swain aka T-Cutt is a Drum & Bass Producer from Nottingham. He started out as a Hip Hop DJ playing at many of Nottingham’s venues including Stealth, Rock City and Rescue Rooms. His love of Drum & Bass developed after hearing Andy C in the Main Room of a night where he was DJing.
He stopped DJing in 2019 and sold his equipment to purchase a small studio set up to focus solely on production. He has had releases on Black Inferno, Subjective DnB, Limitless Records and Deeper DnB.
We’ve been in touch for a while and I’ve been a supporter of his productions since our very first conversation. I’ve subsequently gone on to premiere a couple of his tracks. Now, as with so many previous mixes, T-Cutt joins our Renegade Riddims mix series. This is his first DJ mix in three years and is exclusively for us at Data Transmission and is a great way to kick start the long Bank Holiday Weekend!
Check out T-Cutt’s mix below. It contains music from the likes of himself, Kanine, K Motionz, Dimension, Wilkinson, Break, Fade black, Quadrant & Iris, Workforce, Alix Perez and loads more! It’s also available as a FREE DOWNLOAD from here!
Q&A:
Sum up this mix in 10 words…
BBQ – RAVE – AFTERS
What’s your personal favourite track on it?
‘Take Me Away’ by Chase and Status – It’s the first DnB I ever bought from being a Hip Hop DJ
What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
My use of vocals/ samples and acapellas to help drive the tracks. I find the voice is the most exciting instrument and my productions usually have a vocal element… as does this mix!
Tell us about your next EP?
I’m currently working with a producer from USA as my first collaboration project, we currently have about 4/5 songs that we have made and they are a bit different to my usual style
What have you got coming up?
A couple of singles lined up ready to go. I’m just waiting for the artwork and masters to come back. I dont DJ anymore as I stopped about 3 years ago. Being a DJ and a dad are hard things to juggle!
When was the last time you actually raved?
At the Start of May…Detonate at Unit 13 in Nottingham. It was a great rave. Detonate have been putting on DnB nights in Notts for 20+ years. They always deliver! Shout out to James and the team!
And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
Thanks for the DMs, comments, likes and plays. They genuinely make me smile and I love chatting to my followers/fans.
