Warriors of the Dystotheque is the brain child of Jonny Mac from Ireland who over the last 19 years DJ’d across the globe alongside Phil Hartnoll form Orbital and Leeroy from the Prodigy, he also survived 2 tours with Shaun Ryder & Bez from The Happy Mondays. numerous festival appearances at V after winning the XFM DJ competition in 2000 and others across the world as well as promoting several club nights and warehouse parties for over a decade in the UK before relocating back home to Ireland and shelving Jonny Mac.

After a few years break and totally being out of the scene he started his new project Warriors of the Dystotheque and over the past 4 years they have been making rather a lot of noise, with 5 EP’s released all of which have had major support from Nemone on BBC 6 Music also plays from Lauren Laverne, Huey Morgan & reaching BBC R1 on the Phil Taggart & Hue Stephens shows, local BBC shows Electric Mainline, Across the Line in Northern Ireland and BBC Coventry got in on the act and not forgetting Dan Hegarty on RTE in Ireland making the debut album Madness in the Method his album of the week in January last year.

Throughout the EP’s is a peppering of pioneers from within Electronic and Indie music namely Justin Robertson, Lisbon Kid ft Sarah Cracknell (Saint Etienne) Graham Crabb (Pop Will Eat Itself) Richard March (Bentley Rhythm Ace) & recently on WotD’s last EP they enrolled Germany’s Sacha Dive for remix duty.

The stale state of affairs in the modern music industry, coupled with the individuals empowerment of the internet, has blown open the doors to unconventional approaches to music.
Warriors of the Dystotheque grew from an Anti Social network love of lo-fi music and electronic DJ culture between artists spread across Ireland, France and New York.
Style has no limit, these guys take in elements from 60’s garage, broken beat, jazz, downtempo, house, techno, electronica, noise, psyche, and pretty much anything that opposes the mainstream, beige, cliches of modern music & get this Warriors of the Dystotheque haven’t ever all met and never been in the same studio at any time what with being in Ireland the UK & New York.
WotD are composed of DJ / Producer / Engineers/ Musicians Jonny Mac, Derry / Ireland Sean Graham, Coventry / UK & Toulon / France & The Brothers Nylon Mike and Nick Rufolo NYC / USA.
You can listen to the same old tired shit being churned out telling you that “this time it’s different”, or you can march forwards, cans on ears, knowing that this time, music really is here to set you free cause the “Warriors have come out to play”!!!
