BIOGRAPHY

Was in the ’90s when Marcelo Vinhas gave his first steps in the electronic music scene in the underground hollows of Porto Alegre (State of Rio Grande do Sul). Immersed on local vinyl stores, he found himself as a DJ. Not long after, he was commanding pick-ups in the main nightclubs of Bagé (Rio Grande do Sul), your hometown. And from then his love for music has only grown. Between 1996 e 2002 he was moving the dance floor of Bagé’s nightlife scenario and from 2003 he extended to other cities in the Rio Grande do Sul, until 2010. In 2008, he created a DJ course to foment even more the local music scene.

Moved to Florianópolis in the state of Santa Catarina in 2010 to conceive “Groove Up”, a project created with the talented Felipe Sosa (DJ, Producer and percussionist) resulting in a series of dual presentations until 2013 when decides to move to the capital Porto Alegre, engaging with the DJ’s brotherhood and Syndicate of Rio Grande do Sul.  Thus, by actively participating in events, contributes to promoting the expansion of electronic music of these two Brazilian states.

As a visionary enthusiast, targets the international career packing his music and departing to Dublin – Ireland in 2016, where becomes part of the Function Entertainment’s casting as a DJ and artist associate. The same year that he produced his first tracks intensifying, even more, his relationship with music. In May 2018 “Marc-V and Friends” was born. An old dream, a series of a party label, idealized by himself and promoted by Function Entertainment.

Marc-V is one of the ambassadors of Brazilian electronic music in a generation in progress. No one knows his next step until he takes over the pick-up and shakes the dance floor again.

“When I was very young, in the South of Brazil, I discovered the power of music, and since then I have chosen to put it in the first place in my life. Today, with more than 20 years of career, great musical baggage, and aptitude for such thing, I feel that I made the right choice for being part of a scene without labels, in which the music beat is enough to make you feel good.

The chance to produce unique sets for each gig makes it all special. I believe that music is circumstantial, it is part and completes the moment we live. It is the product and the environment at the same time. So I feel free to build sets that run through House, Tech House, and Techno.
Sharing the stage with local DJs or big names of the scene, whether in clubs or festivals, it opened horizons and brought maturity to my career.

This way, I see now as the perfect moment for the beginning of a new cycle. The passage of Marcelo Vinhas to Marc-V is a new stage, a count from several circumstances, like music marks our life. Without leaving the roots, a new moment begins, with the only purpose of continuing to make the music fulfills people’s lives.
