INTERVIEW: Huw Mitchell – Konflict

Written by on December 20, 2018

When did you start DJing?
I was 16/17 when I first started to learn. Played for a few years then took a break for a year or so and got back playing gigs beginning of this year.
Your favourite place you have played?
Tough one, I played in a the basement car park of the W hotel in China to a massive crowd which was pretty cool. But I do love playing at cuckoo club. The sound system is wicked.
Musical influences?
There’s too many but a few of my favourites right now are Lehar, Dorian craft, Birds of Mind, Adriatique
What have you got coming up?
Finishing off the year with an event at Proud Embankment, and New Year’s Eve I’ll be playing at Kadies Club
Any shoutouts you want to give?
Shoutout to my Konflict team!!
When did you start the brand Konflict?
I launched Konflict on March the 3rd 2017
What made you start the brand?
It’s been trial an error to find out what works best for us and our crowd but we’ve found our feet and are heading to the deep, melodic house & techno
What’s the best venue you have hosted the night at?
Very tough, each party we hold is special for different reasons, the small intimate ones at venues like Kadies / w hotel / cuckoo are wicked but also our bigger scale events at venues like Proud on the Embankment are great too
Who’s your favourite DJ you have had on?
We’ve had some very talented artists on the lineup. Each one with their own unique touch. I’ve also confirmed a couple of my favourite artists for upcoming gigs in 2019 but can’t say too much right now.
What’s next in store for the night?
We’ve just signed a deal with Pacha group to run Lio London on their 6 week pop up at the London cabaret club every Friday which is a massive opportunity for the brand which will launch on 22/02/2019
