DT948 – Joey London Style

Joey London Style steps up for Data Transmission as his ‘Clurb’ EP lands on Hottrax this January.

Fresh from his latest outing on Jamie Jones’ label, the London-raised, Manchester-based selector delivers a mix stacked with groove and intent. ‘Clurb’ and ‘Little Bitter’ both feature, with the latter his personal pick, and you can hear why. Tough drums. Weighty low-end. Built for busy rooms.

There’s plenty of Joey London Style dubs in here too. ‘Copy Kats’, ‘HOT GIRL CRAZY’, ‘The Speed Train’ and ‘Grip Tight’ all get a run out, sitting alongside cuts from Joe Thomas, Ruggier and Baylee Brown. It moves fast. It keeps its punch. No filler.

If you’ve been following his rise through Hottrax, Cuttin’ Headz and Metamorfosi, this feels like another clear step forward. Focused, confident and very much aimed at peak-time.

Stream the full Joey London Style mix now on Data Transmission and grab ‘Clurb’ via Hottrax on 23rd January.

Today, he joins us on the podcast for the first time. Listen to it below, on Mixcloud or Apple Podcast here.

Sum up this podcast in 10 words…

Something groovy, energetic, something to get you fired up.

What’s your personal favourite track on it?

Got to be ‘Little Bitter’ for me! Very proud of this one.

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?

A lot of my unreleased tracks, if I do say so myself haha.

Tell us about your next EP?

My next EP is on Libero which is a cool one. There’s two originals and two fire remixes from REME and Drey Kinian, all from boys that live just round the corner from me!

What have you got coming up?

This year I’m really pushing my own sound and my label, so I’m just hyper focused on perfecting what I’m currently doing. I’ve got a bunch of summer shows both in the UK and, abroad which I’m super excited about, so just it’s all exciting stuff really.

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?

If you have a moment, check out my latest EP on Hottrax & my Label Stylin Records. Both creations are some of my proudest pieces of work! Thanks for tuning in, and hope you enjoy the mix!
