DT926 - Hatiras - Data Transmission

Toolroom just dropped a bomb. Hypnotized by Hatiras is the triple threat of groove, grit and bassline business. If you love your house music sweaty, chunky and primed for the club, you’re in the right place.

The OG alien invader is back. That’s right, Hatiras, the man who beamed “Spaced Invader” into dancefloors worldwide, has returned to Toolroom with a main room monster called Hypnotized.

Toolroom Records · Hypnotized

Rooted in the early North American rave underground, Hatiras has spent the past two decades serving up heaters across Defected, Dirtybird, Simma Black and his own Spacedisco imprint. This guy doesn’t just make tunes, he builds weapons.

And Hypnotized? It’s a floor-shaker.

Expect rolling low-end, tight hats and that kind of hypnotic vocal hook that loops in your head long after the rave. It’s peak-time energy designed for basements, rooftops, warehouses, and anywhere the system reaches its maximum capacity.

The entire mix is loaded, featuring reworks by Armand Van Helden and new cuts from Carlostella, Wh0, and Mark Knight. Hatiras sprinkles his own fire throughout, including Fire, Back For More, and the bouncing Bring The Funk Back.

This week’s podcast is straight-up dancefloor fuel. Press play, turn it up and get locked into the groove.

Sum up this podcast in 10 words…

Funky and “Hypnotizing” Hatiras music on Spacedisco Records and Toolroom!

What’s your personal favourite track on it?

Clearly it’s my new single “Hypnotized” on Toolroom Records. I start the set with this one

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?

What sets this mix apart is that it’s not just a DJ mix – it’s a showcase of music I created. I produced 8 of the 17 tunes in the mix. They are all cohesive in that they’re dancefloor friendly, thumping and funky – but they’re all unique and range from tech house to disco to jackin house to Latin vibes.

Tell us about your next EP?

I’m currently working on a follow up to “Hypnotized” for Toolroom Records. In the meantime, I’m dropping a new single on my label Spacedisco Records called “Soul Slingin’” as well as a collaboration with my good friend Angelo Ferreri called “Dance With The Devil” releasing on his label Mood Funk Records. I’m also releasing the milestone 500th release on my label Spacedisco Records at the end of August that will feature a bunch of my music.

What have you got coming up?

As mentioned above, the landmark 500th release on my label, plus “Soul Slingin’” and “Dance With The Devil”. I also have a collaboration with Defected’s Seamus Haji, releasing in September called “Baby Likes To Disco”.

In terms of tour dates. There are too many to list them all. Some key shows are: I’m playing the much anticipated Toolroom party in Toronto on August 3rd, as well as Spybar Chicago on August 9th, and the Spacedisco Records 9 Year Anniversary Secret Warehouse Day party in Toronto on August 30th. On top of that, I’ll be in Ibiza as a production mentor at Orbit DJ Retreat this fall and am planning an event at Amsterdam ADE in October.

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?

You guys are the reason we all do this. Your support and the connection to you is truly appreciated! If you liked this mix and love Data Transmission – please go ahead and share this content! Sending big musical hugs and love to you!

A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
