Share

Tony Romera first stepped onto the scene 10 years ago as a fresh-faced 20-year-old looking to make waves and disrupt the electronic music world with his unique style and French-house-inspired beats.

Since then he’s been busy releasing music and experimenting with different sounds and styles, putting out music on a range of powerhouse labels and gaining support from the likes of Diplo, Fisher, Chris Lake, Mark Knight, DJ Snake, Skrillex, Tiesto, Porter Robinson, Fatboy Slim, Deadmau5, Kaskade, Vintage Culture, Claptone, Adam Beyer and many more.

His remix of Julio Navas, Gustavo Bravetti and David Amo’s Raw was one of Toolroom’s biggest tracks of 2022, picking up support from Fisher, LP Giobbi, Gordo and Carl Cox to name just a few. In the last few years Tony has become an integral part of the Toolroom family, and now returns to the label with his latest single House Y’all.

Following his recent collab Attracted alongside Crusy ,French artist Tony Romera is back on Toolroom with another slice of Tech House fire.  House Y’all’s distinct character is built upon a warped, creeping bassline and tough, relentless beats providing an irresistible pulsing backdrop as the familiar chanted vocal emerges. House Y’all is a sonic trip that transports you deep into the heart of the underground.

Today, he joins us on the podcast for the first time. Listen to it below, on Mixcloud or iTunes here.

Sum up this podcast in 10 words…

I just wanted you to vibe on it, some House for y’all!

What’s your personal favourite track on it?

I’d say, my new track “House Y’all”, which I just released on Toolroom, has some old-school hip-hop vocals, some groovy drums and powerful bass, that’s what I love.

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?

The IDs are my special ingredients, I love to play a bunch of unreleased tracks, and in this mix, I played 3 unreleased, hope you’ll like them!

What have you got coming up?

I have a lot of releases coming for the end of the year and for 2024 already. Some releases on labels I love like Toolroom, and some others on Coco, Solotoko, and Black Book. I’m super excited about these!

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
