Bryan Gee is recognized around the world as the label boss of legendary drum & bass imprint V Recordings and the international DJ with the trademark wide grin who has a genuine love for his job.

Thanks to his tireless effort and his endless love for music, Bryan G is still one of the most recognisable faces on the international DJ circuit and with V Recordings still very much at the forefront of the drum & bass scene he can claim to have achieved far more than most. Now over two decades since acid house changed his musical tastes forever Bryan Gee is still pushing the boundaries and loving what he does.

This summer he plays at Outlook Festival, which takes place from 3rd – 9th September in Fort Punta Christo, Pula, Croatia and today he joins the podcast series.

What’s your personal favourite track on it?
Ah man, you guys are mean! How can I choose one from all these bangers .. Theres a new need for Mirrors track call Slaves of empire following in the pagan vibe, also the new Nazca Linez track – Acid Fashion which is mad and DLR – Da Funk forthcoming on Chronic

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
Funk, Freshness , exclusivity, and hard rollin bass beats

What’s the best gig you’ve played recently?
Had a great night in Cambridge Toronto recently, a really small venue packed and tight and played for almost 4 hours. Love those up and personal and intimate ones and love playing long sets

What have you got coming up?
Gonna be out the game for a while as jus going to have a toe op so be grounded for 4-6 weeks probably longest ever, but before that looking forward to awol in Germany early May also Balter Festival and our annual liquid event at the liquid garden in swindon.

And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
Yeah watch out it is 25 years of V Recordings this year and we gonna have a lot of things going on 25 yrs of V Recordings album, with brand new killer tracks from Roni Size, Marky, Dillinja alongside the new blood all leading up to our London gig at steelyard in October which will be massive.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
