444 – PBR Streetgang

Share

They say two heads are better than one and whilst we’re not quite sure who ‘they’ are one thing we do know is that their logic is certainly sound when applied to Leeds-based house duo Bonar Bradberry and Tom Thorpe, who have been working together as PBR Streetgang for over a decade now. Having cut their musical teeth on their home city’s infamous nightlife, and developing into an act that’s equally known for their quality studio output on labels like Futureboogie and 20:20 Vision – they’ve got an EP out on the latter this August –  they’ve also forged a fierce reputation for their work in the DJ booth, using a finely tuned back-to-back setup to maximum effect in during their sets.

It’s this dynamism on the decks that we set about securing for this weeks podcast with the pairing serving up an hour long set of selections ahead of their hotly anticipated performance at this year’s Beat Herder Festival.  Jam packed with “fresh beats, summer treats, and good vibes” you can check out their mix in all its sunshine soaked glory below. Enjoy.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
