With a career starting in the early nineties from the warehouse raves of the industrial city of Tampere, Orion is still one of the busiest and most relevant DJs in Finland. On top of over 15 years of work on Finnish National Radio, Orion also runs his own Absence of Facts imprint and regularly releases music on labels like MORD, H-Productions, Mindtrip, Suara, etc. With a funky, playful approach to techno both behind the decks and in the studio, his tracks are widely played and supported.
Today, he joins the NUDE Techno podcast, with an hour of Techno. Listen to it below on SoundCloud & Mixcloud.
Sum up this podcast in 10 words…
“I wish there would be wayyy more techno like this out there”.
What’s your personal favourite track on it?
I really love the opening track – “[KRTM] – Basic Needs”.
What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
Even though the mix spans different styles of techno, the jacking and funky vibe remain throughout the full hour. Three decks and tons of cool new tracks guarantee to keep it interesting.
Tell us about your latest EP?
I just released Corrosion series, a pack of five EP’s on my own label, Absence of Facts. Lots of those tracks are included in this mix. Also, there’s a vinyl out on Berlin-based label Antimodus including a remix for Niclas Erlandsson. That’s included in the mix, too.
What have you got coming up?
I’ll be moving back to Berlin after the summer to finish my PhD. I’m looking forward to live juuust a bit closer to some of my favourite clubs in the world.
And finally, do you have a special message for our readers?
“Nothing can replace the uplifting feeling you get of just being there” -Purpose Maker / Mills
